From the Other Pillow
Poetry & Art Collection, 2020
For my undergraduate course at the University of Washington “Creative Writing: Poetry,” I wrote a series of poems which explored insomnia. After the class ended, I continued to workshop my writing and put together the works I was most proud of into the following collection From the Other Pillow. Each poem is accompanied by a drawing, which in print creates the illusion of tossing and turning with each page like a flip book. Drawings were done in Procreate for the iPad, edited in Adobe Photoshop, and the cover & page layouts were finalized using Adobe InDesign. The cover image was arranged (the little pillow was handmade!) and photographed by myself using a Canon EOS 80D camera, then edited in Adobe Photoshop. This collection is currently out of print.
