In Rosy Retrospect
Short-Story & Poetry Collection, 2018
In my undergraduate course at the University of Washington, “Creative Writing: Prose," students were asked to create six personal narrative pieces and then compile them into a final chapbook. The theme I explored throughout all of my pieces was overcoming nostalgic thoughts, and I wanted that to be reflected in the cover and through visual motifs within my novel. After workshopping my pieces in additional creative writing courses, as well as independently, I eventually compiled and self-published In Rosy Retrospect as my first short-story & poetry compilation. The cover and rose motifs were originally hand drawn sketches that I edited using Adobe Photoshop. It is currently out of print.
